Postcard from the Klöppelmuseum Abenberg (the museums at Abenberg Castle, in the district of Roth, in central Germany), reading: Abenberger Spitzenklöpplerinnen au der zet um 1910 ("lacemakers from around the time of 1910").
This line from the message side—written in pencil, in 1987—resonates with us deeply: "We are very busy preparing new books. Hope you are all well as we and our cats are." Books, cats, and a preoccupation with lacemaking...? Ausgezeichnet (excellent).
Don't miss the details in the photo, though: the needlework (or lunch?) basket, the accompanying children, and the four bobbin lace pillows, front and center.
